Troubleshooting common email problems

Problem: Outlook Express disconnects immediately after receiving messages

Solution: There is a setting in Outlook Express that usually is the cause of this behavior. From within Outlook Express, click Tools, Options, and then the Connection tab. If there is a check mark beside "Hang up after sending and receiving", click to clear the check mark and then click OK. Outlook Express should no longer disconnect when sending and receiving.
